A Little About Sally

I’ve been working in the health and fitness industry as a Personal Trainer and Nutritionist for over 17 years and have coached hundreds of clients to reach their health and fitness goals.

My curiosity and interest in nutrition and fitness were sparked 22 years ago, at the very young age of 14, and my passion for health and fitness led me to study a double degree in a Bachelor of Applied Science in Exercise and Sport Science and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. I said goodbye to my dream of being a doctor to dedicate my life to the prevention of poor health, rather than just helping treat it.

I’ve continued to educate myself in all things nutrition, fitness, and health, keeping updated with the latest scientific research and studies as well as the latest ‘trends’ in the industry. I’ve used myself as a guinea pig multiple times on different nutrition and training methods, protocols, techniques, and strategies. When I’m not working or training, I love to take courses, attend conferences, study, read, and listen to podcasts on any topic of health. You could say I’m a bit of a nerd! With an insatiable appetite to learn AND help people.

I grew up on the far south coast of NSW and had a beautiful childhood surrounded by the ocean and the bush as well as a huge backyard full of animals. My dad was a vet and would rescue as many animals as he could from the Animal Welfare League and bring them home for us to give them a good life. I am a huge animal lover and my dog, Rose truly is my best friend.

My mum instilled a love of food and cooking at a very young age, and creating delicious recipes and meals is still a big passion of mine. I see nutrition both a source of fuel and as a source of enjoyment and I am passionate about teaching other people how to restore a healthy relationship with food and how to live a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

In terms of fitness, I come from a very competitive athletic background competing in Surf Boat Rowing, Netball, Ironman, and Horse Riding, but for now my personal focus is longevity. I have an immense passion and respect for resistance training. I began lifting weights at the age of 14 and it changed my life. The impact that my PT had on me changed the course of my life and career. I wanted to have that same impact on as many people as I could.

You’ll find me in the weights room six days a week, lifting anything from a kettlebell to a barbell with chains or bands attached, but I also love swimming in the ocean as often as possible as well as spending time at the dog park making lots of fur friends.
